
ASIC tightens rules on AI and algorithmic trading, pushing Australian markets toward stricter controls
Australia’s corporate regulator announced amended market integrity rules on September 26, 2026 that extend testing, monitoring and governance obligations to AI enabled trading systems. The changes aim to align domestic rules with international standards, impose kill switch and testing requirements for trading algorithms, and give market participants an 18 month transition to comply.
